THE JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (JSS)

JSS1 CLASS

This is the entry class to secondary education. Most of the students are between ages 10 – 11. Most of the students just finished their primary education. In Royal Oxbridge International School, we are very conscious of the differences in the academics, social, psychological, backgrounds and are always prepared to bridge the gaps and provide the needed supports. To achieve these and others we have trained and competent teachers who provide guidance and direction to the new students.
Upon resumption in Royal Oxbridge International School, an Orientation Programme – ‘Welcome to ROIS’ is organised for the newly enrolled students.
There are various activities during ‘Welcome to ROIS’. Some of them are ‘Understanding Grading System and Requirements for Promotion’, ‘Respect for Fellow Humans, the Environment and the School Properties’, ‘Commitment to the School Motto, the Vision Statement, the Mission Statement, and the Core Values, ‘Know Your School – A Facility Tour, etc.
Our JSS1 students will always find their school – a place to learn discipline, an opportunity to excel, and a determination to lead.

JSS2 CLASS

In JSS2, the students are fully settled for their secondary education. However, the uniqueness (midpoint in junior secondary) and expectations (an eye on the next but final class) of this set of students cannot be overemphasised.

In Royal Oxbridge International School, adequate preparations are always made in providing enabling environment and provisions for the success of the students.

JSS3 CLASS

At the beginning of the session, students are challenged towards the tasks ahead, and necessary encouragement is given to achieve excellence.

The consciousness of concluding junior secondary is noticeable and the euphoria gain promotion to the senior secondary is high.

However, students are made to understand the work ahead of them and the rivers (examinations) to cross before landing on the shores (senior classes).

At the end of JSS3, the students have fully completed all the learning instructions for the class and are prepared to sit for:

Rivers State Basic Education Certificate Examination,

Basic Education Certification Examinations (BECE), and

Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint.

These 3 examinations are being organised/conducted by the Rivers State Government, the National Examination Council, and Cambridge Assessment International Education respectively.

THE SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL (SSS)

SS 1 CLASS

This is the entry class into the Senior Secondary School. It is the beginning of the final lap in secondary education.

In Royal Oxbridge International School, special attention is given to this set of students because of the sensitivity and uniqueness of the class. The students are just transiting from Junior Secondary School to Senior Secondary School. Expectations are high with mixed feelings.

One of the major challenges or one of the most important decisions to make is the choice of subjects and their combinations which are directly proportional to their careers of choice.

In Royal Oxbridge International School, there is a specially designed template to guide the students and direct them to make the right decisions.

Part of the programmes designed includes ‘Career Path to the Future’, other related Seminars, Talks, and sessions with the School Guidance & Counsellor. The programmes started at the end of their JSS. They were part of activities to mark the end of the Junior Secondary Education. It is expected at the resumption of the SS1 Class, students must have used the holiday period to think and hold conversations with their parents, guardians, mentors, etc.

Upon the early days of resumption for the session, there are feedbacks and follow-ups to ensure the students make the right, suitable, and deliverable choices void of cohesion, force, compulsion rather based on capacity, understanding, and passion.

SS 2 CLASS

The is the midway to the senior classes. It is the end before the end.

The sensitivity of this class is that most of the crucial and critical academics are expected to be largely or at the very point of conclusion. Therefore, using the SS3 Class as a platform for problem discoveries and solution providers of academic challenges.

In Royal Oxbridge International School, SS 2 students attend classes during the long holiday. They attend classes throughout August. This is to prepare them for the International General Certificate of Senior Education (IGCSE) which holds in November and; the WASSCE and the Senior Secondary Examination (NECO) which are expected to take place within the 2nd and 3rd terms (i.e. March to July).

SS 3 CLASS

The SS 3 Class students resume this class with a series of orientation programmes focusing on dedication to discipline, determination to excel, and diligence in leadership.

The SS 3 class commences their academics in August (instead of September) in preparation for the IGCSE – November. A few months later, the students will be sitting for the WASSCE and the Senior Secondary Examination (NECO).

In Royal Oxbridge International School, we work towards ensuring proper coverage and completion of the senior secondary Schemes of Work in SS2. This arrangement helps in creating more time for proper revision and beaming searchlight to some discovered, noticeable challenges requiring urgent and definite attention.

In Royal Oxbridge International School, we see the SS 3 as our products to the globe. Our ambassadors to the world. Therefore, every effort is made to prepare these students academically, psychologically, emotionally, and physically to be Godly, confident, bold, critical thinkers, solution providers, and major players in society.
